Pearl Harbor Day ceremony to be held at O’Fallon City Hall

Everyone is welcome to attend the Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day Ceremony beginning at 1 p.m. on Sunday, December 2, at O'Fallon City Hall.

In commemoration of the 71th anniversary of the Sunday, December 7, 1941, bombing of the U.S. Pacific Fleet stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, the public is invited to attend the Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day Ceremony beginning at 1 p.m. on Sunday, December 2, in the O’Fallon Municipal Centre (City Hall), 100 North Main Street, O’Fallon Missouri 63366.

The ceremony will pay tribute to all World War II veterans, with a special dedication honoring Mel Schneider and recently deceased WWII veterans. Tom Korth of the O’Fallon Veterans Commission will be the master of ceremonies. Rear Admiral Jack Zerr, United States Navy, Retired, will be the special guest speaker. Color and honor guard units from local veterans’ organizations and local students will participate in the ceremony.

 Directions: On I-70 in O’Fallon, take Exit 217 at Highway K/M (Main Street). Drive north on Main Street for about one-half mile, cross the railroad tracks and make the first right to the Municipal Centre. The ceremony will be held in the Multipurpose Room on the first floor.
