Fort Zumwalt Park temporarily closing to vehicles

Beginning Monday, October 14, Fort Zumwalt Park in O’Fallon, Missouri, will officially close to vehicles so that crews can safely install holiday lights and scenes for the City’s annual Celebration of Lights display. The park will remain open to pedestrians who want to use the asphalt walking and jogging path through the park during daylight hours. Located on Jessup Drive (off Veterans Memorial Parkway), the park will reopen to traffic on January 20, 2014.

The public is invited to drive through the Celebration of Lights display, which opens at 6 p.m. on Friday, November 29 (the day after Thanksgiving), and continues nightly through December 30, except for Wednesday, December 25, when it will be closed for Christmas. The event, which is sponsored by the City of O’Fallon with help from local businesses, helps raise funds for participating not-for-profit organizations.
