O’Fallon’s Civic Dance Studio for kids and teens now includes private lessons

Looking for a fun, year around program that keeps kids on their toes? Civic Dance Studio, offered by O’Fallon’s Parks and Recreation Department, provides tap, ballet, acrobatics, jazz dancing, contemporary and more. Beginning classes include tap, ballet and acrobatics for ages 3 and up, with more advanced classes in ballet, pointe, lyrical and jazz for pre-teens and teenagers. Classes are held at the Civic Annex, 410 East Elm Street near downtown O’Fallon.

In addition to private lessons, Civic Dance offers an eleven-month program that concludes with a dance recital, encouraging students to practice and master the skills they need. Classes are offered in eight-week sessions, with the next session beginning September 9. Students can join the program at any time until January 2014, and still be eligible to appear in the dance recital. Bi-monthly tuition classes are eight weeks. Depending on the class length (45, 60 and 75 minutes), sessions vary from $48 - $56 for residents, and $58 - $66 for non-residents. Intermediate and advanced-level dancers taking three classes or more qualify for Individual Unlimited Monthly Rates, which allows students to attend as many classes per session for which they are eligible. For residents, the cost of Unlimited classes is $62 for intermediate, and $85 for advanced students. For non-residents, the cost is $70 for intermediate and $95 for advanced students. Tuition does not include dance attire or recital costumes.
