O’Fallon’s Cornucopia of Care Food Drive helps local families

With winter holidays coming up, O’Fallon-area residents, organizations, schools and businesses are invited to donate non-perishable canned or boxed food and personal care items to O’Fallon’s 13th Annual Cornucopia of Care Food Drive. The drive begins November 4 and continues through Saturday, December 14.

 “As the holidays approach, we ask that citizens seek opportunities to reach out to others in need,” said Kathy Halstead, O’Fallon’s Manager of Volunteer Services, which is heading up the drive. “Unfortunately, families in our area still find themselves struggling to put food on their tables.  With the generous donations collected through this drive, local pantries will be better stocked to provide them the support and hope they need this holiday season.”

Donations also are welcome at the following City events:

§  The Tree Lighting Ceremony at O’Fallon City Hall, 6 – 8 p.m. on November 20

§  The Celebration of Lights in Fort Zumwalt Park, November 29 – December 30 (closed December 25); get $1 off drive-through admission Wednesday through Sunday with a donation. Gates open at 6 p.m. Closed Mondays for train rides.
