Basics

Ok so some will think I am starting an argument.  Let the fur fly.
Question; WHAT IS WRONG WITH AMERICA?
My Answer; Failing to maintain the Basics.
Basics are as follows; Food, Water, Shelter, Clothing, Roads, and Education.
Note I did not place College, Transportation, Computers, or anything that is modern.  The reason?  They are all luxury items.
The United States is falling apart due to not maintaining the Basics.  Education for children has gone from K-8 to K-College.  This means a child plays from the time they are 5 years old until they are kicked out of college or the parent's money runs out.  They are over educated Idiots.  Let's get back to the Basics.

First of all take away the cars for the kids.  They did not earn them and they are not paying anyone for them.  We as parents are at fault here.  We bought the cars for the kids and they only want them to play with.

Second of all make all kids take a high school pre exam, or an 8th grade final exam.  Since this is the same thing make sure the kids can Read, Write, Arithmetic, and Speak English at the 8th grade level before going on.  If they don't want to learn, then send them to the farms nearby as I am sure the farmers could use all the help they can get.

Third of all if the child does not want to go to school, after the 8th grade, don't send them.  Education should be a privilege not a rite.  However show them their choices like becoming a, sewage plant maintenance worker, Water treatment plant worker, plumber, auto mechanic, carpenter, or a farmer.  Have them live that life for one year.  They might just want to go back to school after that.

Fix the roads so that people can get around either on foot or by car.  Again owning a car should be a privilege not a rite.  Make sure that the sidewalks are level enough for wheelchairs and you might see traffic go down considerably.  Then again you might not.

Finally return to the local farms/ranches.  Most farms/ranches are being sold to developers so that the family that owns it can move somewhere else.  This is due to the low view that most Americans have of farm/ranch work.  They want their meat and potatoes but not to pay high prices for them.  By increasing the amount of land that is farmed we can get the food prices dropped lower.  However the Farmer does need to be compensated for his time and effort to produce the food.

There is more than enough housing throughout the country to house all of the current population in America.  Why build more?
