In the Tanach, Genesis it states God created man and woman and said to them be fruitful and multiply.

In the Catholic Bible it states in Genesis God created man and from man he created woman.  God said to them both be fruitful and multiply.

3. Marriage, wedding, nuptials  are terms for the ceremony uniting couples in wedlock. Marriage  is the simple and usual term, without implications as to circumstances and without emotional connotations: to announce the marriage of a daughter. Wedding  has rather strong emotional, even sentimental, connotations, and suggests the accompanying festivities, whether elaborate or simple: a beautiful wedding; a reception after the wedding. Nuptials  is a formal and lofty word applied to the ceremony and attendant social events; it does not have emotional connotations but strongly implies surroundings characteristic of wealth, rank, pomp, and grandeur: royal nuptials.  It appears frequently on newspaper society pages chiefly as a result of the attempt to avoid continual repetition of marriage  and wedding.

In today's world there seems to be a confusion of the term marriage.  I will state here that even though there is a group out there called Politically Correct they can in fact be wrong.  This group is attempting to state that what feels good is good and what feels right is right.  Their views change as the political climate changes so what is right today is wrong tomorrow.

Marriage has been and will always be a union between a male and a female. Children are considered an end product of love.  God did not take an Adam and Adam and tell them to be fruitful and multiply.  Nor did God take an Eve and Eve and tell them be fruitful and multiply.  In either case children would not be a likely outcome.  God choose children to be a product of the love of a man for a woman and that the child so produced to become a blending of their love for each other.

Is marriage dead?  No.  However a marriage does require a man and a woman willingly joining each other in love of each other.  Could man and man or woman and woman love each other?  Possibly as a friend or neighbor but not as husband and wife.
