Politics

Politics in today's world. Change can only happen if the people want it.

Most if not all readers of this post will say they are either TEA Party or Democratic affiliates.  Some will even venture to say they are Republicans.  I got news for you  political affiliation means nothing once the politician gets to D.C.  Everyone has read the news or heard the news of how bad the economy is.

Point in fact the economy is not as bad as the news people are pointing out.  Look back at the stock market crash of the 1920's.  Gas prices soared. Got that.  Jobs were lost. Got that.  Banks went bankrupt. Got that.  Congress was bickering about everything. Got that.  What we don't have is a President saying I have a New Deal for you.  We also have a larger retirement community than we did in the 1920's.

Congress can be changed only if the people vote the incumbents out.  I know that this sounds harsh but look at the facts.  3 Years ago the Democrats controlled Congress and began to pass bills that were designed to cause change.  The Republicans threw a fit and stamped their feet and said "NO!NO!!NO!!! I won't do it and you can't make me!"  2 years ago they got into power by saying we can fix this and will fix this once we have the majority.  They got the Majority and the problem is still there.  The Republicans just want to kick the can down the road and claim it is not their problem.  Since they caused it they should fix it right?  Wrong they are Politicians and they did not create the problem even if they have their name on the bill.  The same can be said for the Democrats, TEA Party members, Whig member, Constitutional Members.  They are all Politicians and such things as Cause and Effect don't apply to them.

What will it take to create change? About 3 Election Cycles with the population voting for a New Representative, or Senator each time.  This sounds harsh but think about this. Most of Congress, both houses, are Millionaires.  They don't get their money from working a regular 0600-1900 job.  Their money comes from Trust Funds, Stock Market Funds, Corporate Donations, Off-shore Banks, etc... They don't have Income oh no they have INVESTMENTS.  This is typical of Congress.  This is why we need to elect a brand new person each cycle of the election years.

As long as lobbyists are running around D.C. making deals and destroying the economy for their benefit then nothing will happen to change anything.  By electing a new person each time an election comes around then the lobbyists will have to spend more and more money just to get to the new Senator, or Representative.  In a way this will cause the economy to recover as they will be spending millions just trying to get a vote on one cause or another.  Sure the Members of Congress will get rich but hey the lobbyists will at least be doing something useful.

Remember WE are the TOO BIG TO FAIL group not Wall Street.  WE ARE THE 99% who are the ones paying all the taxes not the 1% who run the country.  Why should we pay a Politician to tell us how to live?  If all of America were to vote in a new Senator, or Representative at all levels of government then the turnover would be huge.  A large chunk of the population of D.C. would actually have to go home and get a job and not fake it like they are now.  Do you know who your Representative is in the U.S. Congress or even your State Congress?  What about your City Alderman?  Do you know who your Senator is in either part of the Government?  Who is the Mayor of your city?  Who is the Chief of Police in your City or at the Federal Level?

Change begins with people saying enough is enough.  Congress will not change until it is forced to do so by the people.  If you want change bad enough then vote for new people each election cycle and see what happens in around 6 years.  Just remember the President of the United States by law cannot create a bill for passage through Congress.  The President is just the guy who signs the bill for the people.  Call him a CEO with a major emphasis on Executive.  We are the People make Congress listen to us not the lobbyists.

If you like the way things are then keep voting for the incumbent politician and go cry into your, drink of choice.  Complain to your friends, and Neighbors that the country is going to Hell in a handbasket and nothing can be done.  You might be right or left winged but hey you do still have a point.  If you think I am a bleeding liberal then leave a comment to point it out.  Personally I think the U.S. is being run not by any elected member of Congress but by LOBBYISTS.
