Surplus Money

Surplus Money??? Really? Really?  All I am seeing is a state trying to get jobs in state.  Where is this money coming from?  I see all these ads on T.V. (boob tube) asking people to get this money sent back to them.  Guess what there ain't no such thing as surplus.  We are in a Recession caused by the Republicans and Democrats of all the Congresses of the United States.  That comes out to approximately 51 State and Federal congresses. 

Trickle down theory does not work.  To explain how this is suppose to work. Excess currency is deposited at the top.  Now the top of this group/pyramid gets its share.  The excess from this group goes down to the next level which gets its share.  The excess from this group goes down to the next level which gets its share all the way to the bottom.  Problem the top group does not have any excess as they keep it all.  They also will not create any jobs as they don't see a need for it.  They also refuse to share in the wealth as the little people won't know what to do with it.

So now you try to go bottom up.  Dropping currency of $1,000,000 into a pool of 10 million people will dilute the amount the various people get until the actual sum is less than say $100.00 per person.  Now this person has only $33.33 to spend after taxes.  Does this create jobs?  That might buy a tank of gas on a good day.  Most of the time it will be either spent on immediate needs like milk, bread, necessary things.  It will most definitely will not create any jobs.

Do the boob tube ads promise anything?  Actually they promise to promote growth of the local economy by stimulating spending of the local people.  Really??? Really???  Face it people the only thing the congresses of the United States has done is nothing.  They have not dealt with budgets, local bills, or even fixed one single pothole.  These things would help get things on line to a better economy but at the National Level nothing is getting done.  Why? Because the Republicans don't want to get caught doing anything so they will do nothing in order to get re-elected.  The Democrats are also in the same boat so nothing gets done.

Most people should recognize that the boob tube ad is just a way for the sponsor of the ad to get more money in his/her pockets.  Even if the State of Missouri had a surplus, maybe, maybe not, we still as a state owe our bond holders, creditors, etc... the money more than the local people.  I haven't seen the latest bills but just last year we were still owing more than we took in.

My reaction?  Spend the money on getting the bills paid first.  Use any surplus to fix the state infrastructure so that future employers can get the people to work and the jobs to the people.
