6-Year-Old O'Fallon Girl Drowns at Johnson Shut-Ins
Kira M. Dempsey became trapped under a log, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
Kira M. Dempsey, 6, of O'Fallon, drowned this past weekend at Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park.
The child became trapped under a log while swimming Sunday afternoon at the popular recreation area on the East Fork of the Black River in Reynolds County.
She was flown by air evac to the Iron County Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
