Drunk Man Trashes Classic Car in Frank Leta Showroom, Police Say

The man was caught by officers as he left the building, and told officers he has anger management issues.

A man broke into Frank Leta Honda Sunday and threw furniture around the showroom, damaging vehicles, computers, two flat-screen televisions and the furniture in the process.

O’Fallon Police said Jacob Kowalik, 21, of the 26200 block of Bubbling Brook Drive in Foristell, broke two windows in the service bay doors to gain entrance.

He then began throwing furniture around the Frank Leta Honda showroom, putting holes in the drywall and damaging a 2013 Honda CRV, a 2013 Honda Accord, a 1972 Honda Coupe and many other items, according to a court document. Police said he was in the building for about an hour.

O’Fallon Police were alerted by a hang-up 911 call from the Frank Leta Honda building. Officers arrived and arrested Kowalik as he was leaving the building.

According to a court document, Kowalik told police that he has anger management issues. He told police he gets drunk and causes trouble.

Kowalik is being held in St. Charles County jail. Bail was set at $30,000, cash only, and he is not to enter the Frank Leta Honda property.
