Man Breaks Relative's Arm After Being Kicked Out Over Drug Use, Police Say

O'Fallon Police reported Joshua Hartnett twisted a 54-year-old man's arm until it broke.

A man is accused of attacking a relative, breaking the man’s arm after being kicked out of a home due to his continued drug use, police said.

Joshua Hartnett, 24, of the 8200 block of Apple Rock Drive in O’Fallon, was charged Monday with second-degree domestic assault.

O’Fallon Police said Hartnett hit and kicked of a 54-year-old relative, then twisted his arm until it broke.

Police said Hartnett and the relative were arguing Sunday about Hartnett’s continued drug use, and Hartnett was being forced to leave the man’s residence in the 8200 block of Apple Rock Drive.

Hartnett is being held by St. Charles County Corrections. Bail was set at $30,000, and he is to have no contact with the injured relative.

Hartnett told police he would go stay with relatives in Amish country in the state of New York.
