Man Charged With Breaking into YMCA Lockers

Man caught at O'Fallon YMCA committed thefts at other St. Louis area locker rooms, according to a police report.

 A man was charged May 1, with breaking into lockers in St. Louis area YMCAs and stealing items inside.

Anthony Cannon, 40, of Lilburn, GA, is charged with theft of a credit device.

said in a report that Cannon entered the Feb. 11 and let in two others through a rear gym door. The three then used a tool Cannon carried in a backpack to pry open locker doors, according to the police report.

Cannon took a wallet and left the YMCA. He used a stolen credit card to buy items and then sold them, the report said.

Cannon was leaving the O’Fallon YMCA when an employee recognized him and stopped him. Cannon had a tool used to break into lockers in his backpack, the report said.

The report said that Cannon admitted going to YMCAs throughout the St. Louis area to steal items from lockers.

Bond was set at $5,000.
