Richard Price also faces a theft charge after O'Fallon Police stopped him as he fled Walmart with stolen item, according to a court document.

A man is accused of stealing approximately $12,837 in electronics, jewelry, golf clubs and other items from his mother’s home in O’Fallon. Police said he falsely reported a burglary at the house.

Richard Price, 22, of the 100 block of Wake Forest Drive in O’Fallon, was charged Thursday with felony theft.

O’Fallon Police said Price stole the items between Feb. 18 and March 17 and then falsely reported a burglary at the house. According to a court document, Price told police he sold the items to a pawnshop so he could support his heroin addiction.

Price also was charged Thursday with stealing two televisions from the O’Fallon Walmart, 1309 Highway K. He was stopped by O’Fallon Police before he left the parking lot.

A car search found two Blu Ray players, five video games and three PlayStation controllers in his trunk, police said. The items had been stolen from the Walmart in Lake Saint Louis.
