St. Charles County Man Faces Drug, Firearms Charges

St. Charles County Drug Task Force members said they found used meth smoking devices and handguns in the man's house Nov. 20.

A man faces drug and handgun charges after the St. Charles County Drug Task Force searched his St. Charles County home near O’Fallon, police said.

Brian Whaley, 36, of the first block of Laura Drive in St. Charles County near O’Fallon, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of handguns.

A Drug Task Force detective said Whaley had been under investigation by the drug task force, which executed a search warrant on his home Nov. 20.

Acccording to court documents, the search discovered eight foil devices used to smoke methamphetamine and eight handguns.

Whaley told detectives that he’s an enforcer with the Statesmen motorcycle group, according to a police report. Detectives characterized the group as a "motorcycle gang." However, a Statesmen member said the group is a motorcycle club.

Whaley was on probation after being convicted in 2009 for manufacturing and possession of a controlled substance and is not allowed to possess firearms.

Whaley said he got the firearms from his father and brother.

His wife, Tricia Whaley, 35, also was charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

Detectives also found prescription narcotics in the home and no one in the home has a prescription for them. One prescription was for a neighbor’s son. Tricia Whaley said she took the medication to improve her mood at work.

She also is on probation for a 2009 manufacturing and possession of controlled substance charges.

Bail for Brian Whaley was set at $50,000.  Bail for Tricia Whale was set at $20,000.
