O'Fallon Man Indicted On Child Molestation Charges

Police said the man waited for the girl's mother to leave before going back into the home.

An O’Fallon man was indicted by a St. Charles County grand jury Friday on two counts of attempted child molestation and first-degree burglary.

Pedro Chavez, 24, of the 200 block of Casalon Parkway in O'Fallon, is charged with two counts of attempted child molestation and first-degree burglary.

O’Fallon Police said Chavez tried to molest a 13-year-old girl before he left the house in his neighborhood July 7. He waited until the mother left the home and re-entered the home and approached the girl again, police said.

He is being held in St. Charles County Corrections in lieu of a $100,000, cash-only bond. A motion for bond reduction was denied Aug. 7.
