O'Fallon Man Pulled Gun, Told Wife He Would 'Go Out in a Big Way,' Police Say

An O’Fallon man faces domestic abuse charges after police said he pulled out a gun and chambered a round while arguing with his wife and threatened to “go out in a big way.”

Joshua Jenson, 24, of the 1600 block of Knightwood Lane in O’Fallon, was charged Friday with unlawful use of a weapon and third-degree domestic assault.

O’Fallon Police said Jenson pulled out a Sig Sauer 1911 handgun while arguing with his wife and chambered a round. According to police, Jenson told his wife that if he was going to leave, he would “go out in a big way.”

Jenson told police he intended to scare his wife to make her think he would kill himself.

Police said Jenson also put his hands around his wife’s neck and took away her cell phone as she attempted to call for help.

Jenson was charged Friday with unlawful use of a weapon and third-degree domestic assault.  Bail was set at $15,000, and Jenson is to have no contact with his wife.
