Man Gets Five Years for Trying to Molest 13-Year-Old Girl, Burglary

Pedro Chavez, of O'Fallon, pleaded guilty to the charges less than a week before his scheduled trial.

An O’Fallon man was sentenced to five years in prison for breaking into a home in his neighborhood and attempting to molest a 13-year-old girl.

Pedro Chavez, 24, of the 200 block of Casalon Drive in O’Fallon, was sentenced by St. Charles County Circuit Court Judge Dan Pelikan April 16 to five years in prison for first-degree burglary and four years for attempted child molestation. The sentences run concurrently.

Chavez tried to molest a 13-year-old girl before he left the house in his neighborhood July 7. The girl’s mother made him leave their apartment, but Chavez waited until the mother left the home, re-entered the home and approached the girl again, O’Fallon Police said.
