Son Calls 911 While Father Slams Wife to Ground, Threatens Her Life, Police Say

O'Fallon Police say Timothy McAtee pulled his wife's hair, slammed her to the floor and held her down so she could not call for help. The victim's son witnessed the event and called 911.

An O’Fallon man faces criminal charges for assaulting his wife Monday.

Timothy McAtee, 41, of Lord Edward Court in , was charged Tuesday with third-degree domestic assault.

said that McAtee pulled his wife’s hair, slammed her to the floor and held her down so she could not call for help. The victim’s son witnessed the event, left the house and called 911, police said in a report. The alleged incident occurred at the couple's home on Lord Edward Court.

Police also said McAtee said multiple times he would kill his wife, including one threat that if he went to jail, he would kill her when he got out.

Bond was set at $10,000, and McAtee was ordered to have no contact with the victim.
