O'Fallon Woman, 22, Swerves Underneath Freightliner

Car crash on Interstate 70 sends O'Fallon woman to hospital with moderate injuries.

A 22-year-old woman, attempting to dodge an unknown vehicle on Interstate 70 Saturday morning, inadvertently traveled underneath a Freightliner truck.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Elizabeth Brown was driving eastbound along I-70, near the Highway K exit, when she had to swerve from lane three of the highway to lane two in order to miss an unknown vehicle.

As she swerved, she traveled underneath the towed unit of the Freightliner.

Brown was taken to the St. Joseph Health Center with moderate injuries.

No further details were available.

Learn to spell or type! "Freighliner"? Really? What, can't afford a proof reader? Sloppy work Patch! Hire some professionals and clean up this mess or shut it down
Wolf Man July 22, 2012 at 06:32 PM
Shut up Fred
Fred Oompahloompah July 22, 2012 at 10:08 PM

Fred Oompahloompah July 22, 2012 at 11:22 PM
Wolf Man must be a little touchy because he must be one of the inept writers or editors on this O'Fallon Patch! I see that they have corrected their mistake after I caught it and called it to their attention. Nice try doofs!

It's unfortunate that you have to hide behind a screen name to rip on someone's work. I have found more errors on major news sites (CNN, stltoday, espn, etc) than on our neighborhood friendly Patch site. I find the content of this website to be more than excellent and it's sad that people like yourself search for a small error like this. The content of this website is spot on and that to me matters way more than a silly typo.
Jason Bright July 23, 2012 at 12:58 AM
Fred, maybe you should concentrate on the content of the articles rather than the spelling. This was a minuscule error and it happens to all major news outlets. Next time it might be more productive to let them know discretely and just enjoy the service patch provides your community.

Fred your a douche? Did I spell that right?
Fred Oompahloompah July 23, 2012 at 05:27 PM
I am very disappointed in this reply from Saleem and the others. None of us should accept the "dumbing down" of journalism in this country. The above news outlets are perfect examples of the poor writing and editing in these areas. I understand that the technology of e-mail /texting has led to certain short cuts in grammar and spelling mainly due to the restrictions of characters in a message or post, but this should not be the case for the publications. I use a screen name as you do to protect myself and family from the nut balls out there who take exception to my criticism and that is only a logical security measure that everyone should use. A perfect example is the comment below from a PMS: "Fred your(wrong use of punctuation that should have been YOU'RE for you are instead of your. Another example of ignorance) a douche?" These are the types we have to be wary of in our society today! However, I digress. I do find that it is difficult to text and type on the devices with the very small keyboards, the touch screen especially and my grammar is not always correct but I am not publishing this in mass as a credible form of news and information to the public. I do see the irony of this publication being named/titled "PATCH" because it is very patchy and obviously run by amateurs or people whose experience in news has been limited to a school news paper. However, I do commend them for going back and correcting their mistake and welcome any corrections in this reply!

Good try PMS but it is spelled YOU'RE for "you are", doof! Go back to school if there is one where you reside. Name calling is very telling about your character and I guess if I am a douche, all I can say is: "It takes one to know one!" I am sure PMS is a very fitting screen name for you whether you are male or female or just a monkey with a keyboard! :)
Fred Oompahloompah July 23, 2012 at 05:39 PM
Yes Jason, the next time I meet with them, I will whisper it in their ear so no one else will hear. We would not want to embarrass anyone!
PMS July 24, 2012 at 02:22 AM
Fred I would like to congratulate you on your perfect grammer and spelling! You should just stick to being very proud of yourself, you do that well smarty pants! I myself am totally impressed that someone as smart as you would waste your time being wary of someone like me! Brian Feldt thank you for all your hard work. I enjoy your articles!

Wow, Fred must have a lot of time on his hands to be so critical of a wonderful local news website. Good job Patch keep the stories coming.
Fred Oompahloompah July 25, 2012 at 08:19 PM
Yes, but clear out your staff and hire proffesionals with at least a high school education or higher!
Fred Oompahloompah July 25, 2012 at 08:32 PM
I do have a lot of time on my hands. Unlike most of you I am retired and physically challenged (have to text and type on keyboards via stylus in my mouth) but have time to view and critic the PATCH and its patchy content!
PMS July 27, 2012 at 01:11 AM
Well Fred maybe you should take a job editing for the Patch. That should help keep you busy, right?
Fred Oompahloompah July 27, 2012 at 07:15 PM
I am not sure I would want my name associated with this rag! Just kidding! I am happily retired and have no interest in having to punch a time clock! However, if I could work from home........
Fred Oompahloompah July 27, 2012 at 07:21 PM
Oh BTW, someone would have to help me to, in and from the restroom due to my physical challenges. Pass the toilet paper Joe! Wipe and flush twice for me will ya! :) Depends!

Maybe you read it wrong, Fred. Huh huh Fred. Maybe you just didn't see it right.
