O'Fallon Woman Injured in Crash on Route N

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a passenger was injured over the weekend when the driver struck a car stopped in the middle of the road.

An O'Fallon woman was injured in a two-car crash on Sunday, Aug. 5.

Jenifer Otalora, 21, of O'Fallon, parked her 1999 Ford Contour on westbound Route N, near Interstate 64 around 4:25 a.m. on Sunday. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, she had her hazard lights on due to running out of gas.

The report states that Ronald Hesselrode, 64, of O'Fallon, driving his 2006 Chevrolet Aveo westbound, was unable to see Otalora's car and struck the right rear of the vehicle before hitting the median.

Otalora and Hesselrode were uninjured. Passenger Kriste Hesselrode, 60, of O'Fallon was transported to  by St. Charles County Ambulance to St. Joseph West Hospital. The report did not state how serious Hesselrode's injuries were.
