O'Fallon Man Charged With Stealing Video Games

Ernest J. Rayno III, of 416 Trent Park Drive in O’Fallon, was charged on May 27 with stealing video games from Walmart last week.

Rayno, who was born in 1980 according to court records, took several video games from the St. Peters store, located at 1661 Jungermann Road, by placing them in an outdoor section of the store near a gate then driving his car around to the north side and picking up the games, according to a probable cause statement signed by Brian Panus of the St. Peters Police Department.

On May 25, Rayno took games valued at $464.16. He returned May 26 and stole games valued at $507.70.

Rayno admitted to stealing the games, and stated “he steals the video games and trades them for drugs,” according to the statement.

Rayno was charged on May 27 with one count of stealing something valued between $500 and $25,000, a felony punishable on conviction of up to seven years in prison and one count of misdemeanor stealing something valued less than $500, punishable on conviction of up to one year in prison.

Bond of $5,000 was posted by Mary Rayno on Tuesday.
