O'Fallon Man Sold Heroin to Undercover Officer, Police Say

St. Charles County Drug Task Force detectives said Shumpert made the drug deals in Lake Saint Louis and O'Fallon.

An O’Fallon man is accused of selling heroin to an undercover officer in O’Fallon and Lake Saint Louis.

Elvis Joe Shumpert, 38, of the 200 block of Shady Rock Lane in O’Fallon, was charged Friday with two counts of distributing a controlled substance and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

A St. Charles County Drug Task Force detective said Shumpert sold him a half gram of heroin June 25 in the 400 block of Hawk Ridge Trail in Lake Saint Louis. Shumpert also sold the detective a gram of heroin June 26 in the 100 block of Oakfield Drive in O’Fallon.

St. Charles County Regional SWAT members searched Shumpert’s home June 27 and found drug paraphernalia, pharmaceuticals and cash.

Shumpert is being held by St. Charles County Corrections. Bail was set at $50,000, cash only.
