O'Fallon Police DWI Patrol Leads to Five Arrests

During August, police patrolled O'Fallon roads for impaired drivers.

Five people were arrested for driving while intoxicated in O'Fallon during the month of August

cracked down on drunk driving on O'Fallon roadways, conducting several DWI Saturation Patrols, with officers working 4-5 hour overtime shifts. 

A total of 42 citations were issued during the 96 traffic stops conducted by O'Fallon officers.

According to police, one suspect was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant, one was charged for minor in possession of alcohol and four suspects were arrested for possession of marijuana during the patrols. 

Funding for the DWI Saturation Patrol was provided by two grants from the Missouri Department of Transportation’s Highway Safety Division in cooperation with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Missouri Safety Center.

Part of the funding came from a mini-grant received from the Missouri Safety Center, specifically for the “You Drink & Drive, YOU LOSE” campaign for the time period of Aug. 19-Sept. 5.
