O'Fallon Resident Faces Heroin Charge After Police Find Heroin in St. Peters Home

Two defendants also admitted trading pseudoephedrine to meth dealer, police said.

Three people face heroin dealing charges after St. Charles County Drug Task Force detectives searched a home in the 100 block of Westgate Drive Feb. 7 in St. Peters.

Three people were charged with distributing a controlled substance after detectives found heroin and drug-related items in the home:

  • Sherri Stever, 49, of the 400 block of School Street in O’Fallon
  • James Kearbey, 37, of the 100 block of Westgate Drive in St. Peters
  • Michael Salyers, 51, of the 100 block of Westgate Drive in St. Peters

Kearbey and Stever were charged Feb. 8. Salyers was charged Feb. 11.

Drug Task Force members said they executed a search warrant on the home and found capsules containing heroin, cut straws, a grinder with heroin residue, empty capsules with heroin residue and baggies.

According to the task force report, Kearbey and Stevers admitted they are heroin addicts and share the items with Salyers.

Kearbey and Stevers also said each of the three defendants buy pseudoephedrine and trade it to a meth cook. Detectives said they found receipts for pseudoephedrine purchases and pseudoephedrine at the home.

Kearbey, Salyers and Stevers were being held Friday in St. Charles County jail. Bond was set at $10,000, cash only, for Kearbey and Stevers. Bond was set at $30,000, cash only, for Salyers.

Salyers also had an outstanding out-of-state warrant for his arrest.
