O'Fallon Teen Charged With Child Molestation

Donald A Knaust, 17, has been charged with multiple counts of child molestation stemming from an incident at Fort Zumwalt North High School in January.

UPDATE: According to police, Knaust, while out on bond on the charges, also had deviate sexual intercourse with a second eight-year-old male victim.

An O'Fallon teen has been charged with multiple counts of child molestation stemming from an incident at Fort Zumwalt North High School in January. 

Donald A Knaust, 17, of O'Fallon, has been charged by the St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office with two counts of first degree child molestation, false imprisonment, first degree attempted statutory sodomy, and two counts of first degree statutory sodomy. 

According to a release from the O’Fallon Police Department, police received a call to the 1200 block of Tom Ginnever in regards to a child molestation on Jan. 25. Police said Knaust had attempted to molest an 8-year-old child and the boy attempted to get away.

Police said Knaust then picked up the boy and carried him into another room and where police said he inappropriately touched the child.

The incident occurred during a sporting event at the Fort Zumwalt North High School.

The suspect was subsequently arrested and was charged with Child Molestation offenses by the St Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. He is currently being held on a $500,000 bond.
