O'Fallon Teen Indicted on Child Molestation, Sodomy Charges

Police said Donald A. Knaust was out on bond when he sodomized a second 8-year-old boy in May.

An 18-year-old O’Fallon man was indicted on multiple charges related to statutory sodomy and child molestation Friday.

A St. Charles County grand jury indicted Donald A. Knaust, 18, of the 1700 block of Diamond Ridge Court in O’Fallon, on two charges of statutory sodomy, one charge of attempted statutory sodomy, false imprisonment and two counts of first-degree child molestation.

According to a court document, Knaust attempted to molest an 8-year-old boy during a sporting event at Fort Zumwalt North High School in January. When the boy tried to pull away from him, Knaust picked up the child and carried him into a wrestling room, where he touched the boy inappropriately, police said.

Police said that while out on bond on May 1, Knaust also had deviate sexual intercourse with a second 8-year-old boy.

Knaust is being held in St. Charles County jail. After, the second incident in May, bail was set at $500,000, cash only.
