O'Fallon Woman Faces DWI/Assault Charges After Wrong-Way Crash

Korie Klosterman of O'Fallon was driving southbound in the northbound lanes of Hwy. 61.

Korie L. Klosterman, 22, of O'Fallon was charged with DWI and assault after a two-vehicle crash last Friday.

Klosterman was driving a 2002 Nissan Maxima southbound in the northbound lanes of Highway 61 south of McHugh Road at 12:22 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 13 when she struck another car head-on.

The Nissan struck a 1999 Buick Century driven by Richard C. Geist, 58, of Hannibal, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported

Geist was seriously injured and transported to Barnes Jewish Hospital. Klosterman sustained moderate injuries and was transported by the MSHP to St. Joseph Health Center.

Both drivers were wearing safety devices.

According to the MSHP website, Klosterman faces charges of DWI and second degree assault.
