Police: O'Fallon Man Assaults Woman, Rips Out Screen Door, Hits Man

Deputies said the man was extremely drunk during the incident.

An man was arrested after deputies said he assaulted two people, tore a screen door off a patio door and threw it over the deck.

Bradley P. Wright, 25, of the 300 block of Charlottesville Drive in O’Fallon, was charged with two counts of third-degree assault, second-degree property damage and resisting arrest.

Deputies said Wright argued with a woman on Saturday in the first block of Pine Cliff Court in Defiance and pushed her across a driveway, causing her to hit her head on the driveway. He then tore off the screen door, heaved it over the deck, and punched a man at the house, according to the report.

Wright was allowed to call his brother to pick him up. When sheriff’s deputies arrived, they warned him not to contact the victim. According to the report, Wright then called her at 1:11 a.m. and the deputy answered the phone, again warning him not to call. Wright then texted the victim at 1:26 a.m. and called her at 1:31 a.m.

Deputies went to his home and were allowed inside by Wright’s brother. Wright was asleep in his bed. Deputies woke him up and told him he was under arrest, and asked him four times to get out of bed but he refused.

Four deputies tried to get him out of bed, but he fought them “to the point where he had to be tased,” the report reads. The report also said Wright was extremely intoxicated during the incident.
