An O’Fallon man faces criminal charges for hitting his wife and sister and ordering his dog to attack his brother-in-law Sunday.
Joshua R. Hackmann, 19, of the first block of Meramec Shores Court in O’Fallon, was charged Monday with two counts of second-degree assault and one count of third-degree assault.
O’Fallon Police said Hackmann was arguing with his wife and pushed her to the floor and began choking her. His wife told police she had knee pain during the struggle.
Police said Hackmann’s sister tried to break up the struggle, and Hackmann put her in a headlock. St. Charles County prosecutors said he also struck his sister in the face.
Hackmann’s brother-in-law also tried to break up the altercation, and Hackmann told his dog to “Get him,” according to the police report. The dog did bite the brother-in-law, police said.
Hackmann was being held in St. Charles County jail Wednesday. Bond was set at $30,000, and he is to have no contact with the victims.
