Retiring Canine Cop to be Honored at City Council

O'Fallon's canine cop Titan will retiring to civilian life at the home of his handler.

The O'Fallon City Council will be considering a resolution Thursday night to honor retiring police canine Titan.

Titan has served the Police Department and the people of the City of O'Fallon "diligently and honorably" for 2 1/2 years, the resolution states.

Titan is being retired early due to a medical condition affecting his eyesight.

During his time with the O'Fallon Police Department, Titan was partnered with Police Officer Nicholas Johnson. The resolution recognizes their "unique bond and relationship."

Titan will transferred to the care and custody of Officer Johnson in his retirement.
