Teen Charged with Burglarizing Home, Stealing Items Worth $3,330

Police said the 18-year-old already was on probation for stealing.

said a teenager is responsible for a June 30 burglary on Alviston Court in O’Fallon.

Brian Chappel, 18, of the first block of East O’Fallon Drive in O’Fallon, was charged in St. Charles County Circuit Court Wednesday with second-degree burglary, stealing and resisting arrest.

Police said Chappel broke into the home by breaking a window, causing $561 in property damage and stole jewelry and electronics valued at about $3,330. He also fled from police in a car and refused to stop, according to the police report.

Chappel had been on probation for stealing.

Bond was set at $25,000.
