Woman Who Put Condom in Daughter's Underwear Charged With Assault, Police Say

The woman wanted her daughter's father to believe his fiance was cheating on him, according to a St. Charles County Sheriff's Department report.

An O’Fallon woman faces assault charges after being accused of putting a condom in her 5-year-old daughter’s underwear.

St. Charles County Sheriff’s Department investigators said the 26-year-old O'Fallon woman told her daughter to hide the condom in her father’s home in Dardenne Prairie. The condom had been made to look as though it was used, according to a probable cause statement.

Investigators reported that the mother’s intent was to cause the girl’s father to believe his fiancé was being unfaithful.

The mother was charged Feb. 22 with third-degree assault against her daughter. In charges filed against her, St. Charles County prosecutors reported that the woman “intentionally caused offensive contact to her 5-year-old daughter by placing a condom that appeared to be used insider (her daughter’s) underwear.”

“The incident caused her to become distressed and to hide behind the shower curtain in her home,” investigators reported.

Investigators said the girl described the condom as “yucky.”

O'Fallon Patch did not name the defendant in the case in an effort to protect to protect the identity of the young child who is the victim of the crime at least until the case goes to trial.
