City Council Approves Police Vehicle Purchases, Health and Safety Codes

City Council held their regular meeting at City Hall on Thursday, Feb. 10.

gave the go-ahead to buy six new vehicles for the at Thursday night’s meeting.

 Purchases approved included:

  • Three 2011 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptors for each $22,552
  • Three Chevrolet Police Tahoes for $25, 138 each

The new police vehicles were included in the city’s 2011 budget approved in December.

said the Tahoes will be used by supervisors to provide better storage space for police equipment.

City council also approved eight bills amending health and safety codes at Thursday night’s meeting.

 The codes are re-evaluated every few years by international and national organizations.  O’Fallon was using the 2007 codes and worked with neighboring cities to adopt similar 2009 recommendations. Click here to read more about the codes.

The next city council meeting is Thursday, Feb. 24 at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall. The workshop begins at 5:30 p.m.
