Voters will no longer have to sign a paper poll book in St. Charles County on election day.
The St. Charles County Council in December approved the purchase of 250 electronic Apple iPad poll books, which poll workers will use to check in voters on election day, according to a story in the St. Charles Suburban Journals.
St. Charles County expects to save more than $1 million over 10 years. The paper books cost $25,000 per election to print. Read more about where the funding for these iPads comes from here.
