Filing for Municipal, School Board Elections Ends Today

Candidates can file for positions until 5 p.m.

The deadline to file for positions on the and the  is 5 p.m. today.  Candidates can file for the municipal election at the city clerk's office at  . School board candidates can file at the . 

City of O’Fallon

As of Tuesday morning, nine candidates have filed for the six open seats on the  Council. O'Fallon contains five wards. There is one seat open in wards 1,2,4 and 5. There is one three year position open in Ward 3 and one two-year position, left by Dan Haney's resignation in October. The terms of Bill Gardner, Rose Mack, John Haman Jr., Bob Howell and Mike Pheney end in April.

Candidates for 2011 election:

▪                Ward 1: Bill Gardner is running against A.C. Dienoff.

▪                Ward 2: Rose Mack filed for re-election.

▪                Ward 3: Ken Wood, Noel C. Roos and Mike Nunnery have filed for the two-year term. John Haman Jr. has filed for re-election to the three-year term.

▪                Ward 4: Bob Howell filed for re-election.

▪                Ward 5: Mike Pheney filed for re-election.

Fort Zumwalt School District

Five candidates have filed for as of Tuesday morning. Three positions are open on the board. President Michael Swaringim, Vice-President Michael Price and member Jeffrey Kutterer's terms end this April. Board members serve three-year terms.

Incumbents Swaringim, Price and Kutterer filed to keep their seats on the board on Dec. 14.

Renee Porter and Laure Schmidt were the most recent candidates to file.

Both the municipal and school board elections will be held Tuesday, April 5, 2011.
