O'Fallon Eagle Scout Honored By City Council

Jonathan Hoyt Bostic recently earned the Eagle rank, which includes earning 21 merit badges and completing a community service project.

A local student was recognized as a future leader by the O'Fallon City Council on Thursday, Jan. 10.

Jonathan Hoyt Bostic recently earned the rank of Eagle Scout, which requires scouts to earn 21 merit badges, complete a community service project and approval from the Eagle Board Chairman, St. Louis and National Council.

The O'Fallon City Council and Mayor Bill Hennessy presented Bostic with a proclamation describing the honor as, "a symbol of patriotism and challenge of the highest magnitude."

"Jonathan we are very proud of your accomplishments, for they are what will continue to make you a leader among men," Ward 2 Councilman Jim Pepper said.

Bostic accepted the recognition with his family members last week.

"I would like to thank my Scout Master and troop and everyone else that helped me earn the rank of Eagle," Bostic said.
