O'Fallon City Council Says No to Air Guns on Private Property

The bill's sponsor cast the only yes vote for the bill.

A bill that would have relaxed O'Fallon's regulations about the firing of air guns in the city limits has failed to win approval from the city council.

The O'Fallon City Council voted last week on an ordinance that would have allowed the discharge of not only air guns, but also pellet guns, paint ball guns, bb guns and other weapons on private property in the city.

The bill included provisions requiring the supervision of children and the protection of neighboring properties.

Councilman Jim Pepper, who sponsored the bill, was the only affirmative vote among the six-person council.
