CANDIDATE QUESTIONS:

1. What is the primary reason you are running for this office?

2. What will be your single most important priority if you get elected?
The state of our current local economy will by my first priority.  With my experience in the construction industry, I see first hand how important the state of the economy is.  Bank regulations, bailouts and excessive mandates have made it increasingly difficult for businesses to grow and develop.  It is time to help the businesses of our community grow and succeed with providing good paying jobs.

 3. What's your favorite thing about O'Fallon?
One of the few things I love about O’Fallon is the fact that my family has strong roots to the community running six generations deep.  As a family, the community provides continued growth through many civic minded programs.   O’Fallon truly is a Live, Work, Play Community!

4. What is the biggest problem you see in O'Fallon?
Economic development and job growth is a concern.  Our economy and growth potential is dependent on attracting investors and developing new business.  We have the potential to do great things here in O’Fallon yet we are currently not in a position to do so.

5. What is your vision for O'Fallon?
Having a common sense solution to Local Government and applying proven leadership to today’s issues so that the future growth of the city is done with responsibility to the residents, business and civic leaders of today and tomorrow to the future is continually bright.

6. If an incumbent, why do you think you should retain your seat? If you are challenging an incumbent, what do you think qualifies you for the position more than the incumbent?
I believe that my experience as a State Representative sets me above any incumbent.  I represented St. Charles County District 17 from 2003 to 2008.  I was reelected in 2010 and served in the 96th General Assembly from 2011 to 2012.  During my time in office I served as chairman of the Committee on Local Government, the Chair of the Special Standing Committee on Governmental Affairs, vice chairman on Senior Security, member of House Committees on Ethics, Small Business and Immigration and as interim Committee on Assisted Living and Criminal Non-Support.  I also sponsored and passed the Amber Alert Bill in 2003 and helped secure passage on an omnibus local government bill that addressed a long list of issues of concern for counties and cities in all parts of our state.  With this experience,  I feel that I bring a lot to the table and to the citizens of this city.    Also, as a life long resident of O’Fallon I share the citizen’s general concerns and understand the emotional tag that comes along with those concerns.
