Operation Homefront: Summit Community Church Collects Care Packages For Troops
Operation Homefront provides supplies for local troops serving overseas.
The City of O'Fallon is preparing for the National Day of Service & Remembrance, to be held on Saturday, Sept. 8.
As part of the event (which is meant to honor & remember 9/11), we are hosting a Military Supply Drive for local, active troops stationed overseas. Summit Community Church is assisting with the drive by acting as a collection site & encouraging church members to contribute. The drive runs through Friday, Sept. 7, so that we can then sort the items as part of the day of service on Sept. 8..
Anyone in the community can participate by collecting and donating items such as AA and AAA batteries, razors, tweezers, fingernail clippers, foot powder, antibiotic ointments, bandaids, combs, brushes, or non perishable foods like raisins, bagged nuts, trail mix, sunflower seeds, canned tuna, vienna sausages, and powdered drink mixes.

You can drop off items at the Summit Community church office, located at 927 E Terra Lane in O'Fallon (right behind Metro Lighting - old Vatterott building) Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Small items work best and most can be purchased at the local Dollar Tree and Deal's stores.
