SCC to host ‘All About the Benjamins: Hone Your Money Skills!’ Oct 8-9

St. Charles Community College will host a series of events “All About the Benjamins: Hone Your Money Skills!” on Tuesday-Wednesday, Oct. 8-9, in the auditorium of the Daniel J. Conoyer Social Sciences Building. All events are free and open to the public.

SCC is hosting these events to help students and the community with financial management and responsibility.

Abby Vernon, SCC financial aid counselor, will present the SALT program and offer a question and answer portion on financial aid at 12:30-1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8.

Ja’Net Adams, speaker, financial coach and owner of MAC Consulting, will present “All About You” from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8. Ja’Net is a national touring speaker who presents programs and workshops to students about financial freedom and becoming debt free. She will challenge each individual to first look at the person in the mirror and to take control. This program focuses on behavioral aspects of becoming debt free.

Fifth Third Bank will present “EmpowerU” including mobile banking, credit score management, identity theft protection, insurance and college savings from noon-1 p.m. and 6-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9. Each session will cover different information.

Cintas will have a shred truck on campus from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9. Secured bins will be available in the auditorium starting at 10 a.m. Shredding will be offered free of charge and is available to the public.
