Nate Phelps Lecture at SCC

Nate Phelps, speaker and author on religion and child abuse, will speak at St. Charles Community College at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, in the auditorium of the Social Sciences Building. The lecture is free and open to the public.

Phelps is well known as the estranged son of Pastor Fred Phelps of the Westboro Baptist Church in Kansas, known for its protest activities.

Phelps, who also is an LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) advocate, will tell his story of enduring physical, emotional and psychological abuse as a child.
