Fort Zumwalt Voters Pass Bond Issue

Passing Proposition 1, a no-tax increase bond issue, would allow Zumwalt to borrow $15,000,000 for building improvements.

Voters in the Fort Zumwalt school district area didn't have any open seats on the school board to decide after only two candidates filed to run for the two open spots. Despite not having a school board race, voters did have to decide on a bond issue.

Passing Proposition 1, a no-tax increase bond issue, allows Zumwalt to borrow $15,000,000 for the purpose of constructing, repairing, improving, extending, renovating, purchasing, furnishing, and equipping schoolhouse sites, buildings, grounds and related facilities for school purposes.

The voters decided to pass the proposition with a 6,300 (64.10 percent) to 3,528 (35.90 percent) vote.
