Liberty High School on Schedule for Fall 2013 Opening

The first class of freshmen will enter the halls of Liberty High School for the 2013-2014 school year.

Construction on Liberty High School is proceeding according to schedule, according to Bruce Dell of Hoener Associates, Inc.

The third high school for the Wentzville School District, located on Sommers Road in O'Fallon, will see its first students this fall, when this year's Frontier Middle School eighth graders become Liberty's first class of freshmen.

In a report to the Wentzville School District Board of Education last week, Dell said that the 100 and 200 halls had light fixtures installed and ceiling tile installation underway. The 300 and 400 halls have some exterior studs placed and exterior sheathing installed.

In the kitchen, the cooler and freezer have been installed and other equipment will be installed in May. The media center is being drywalled and the music room ceiling grid is installed.

The gym floor is about halfway done, Dell said, as well as the scoreboard and one of the baskets. Superintendent Dr. Terry Adams mentioned that he was the first person to shoot a basket in the new facility.
