St. Charles Community College Names New President

SCC Board of Trustees named Ronald Chesbrough, Ph.D., as the college's next president during a special closed session meeting on Aug. 27.

The , named Ronald Chesbrough, Ph.D., as the college's next president in a special closed session meeting on Aug. 27. 

Chesbrough, who is taking over for retiring President John M. McGuire, Ph.D., is the college's third president since its establishment in 1986.

He comes to SCC after serving as vice president for student affairs at Hastings College in Hastings, NB since 2005.

William R. Pundmann, president of the Board and chair of the Presidential Search Committee said in a news release, Chesbrough's 24 years of experience in college leadership and administration prepared him to become the next SCC president. 

After an eight month search, the Board of Trustees narrowed down a list of 41 candidates before selecting Chesbrough. He will begin his position as SCC president on Oct. 3.
