Fort Zumwalt West Powers Past Timberland

Jaguars overcome shaky start, clinch at least a tie for the GAC South championship.

The football team clinched at least a tie for the GAC South championship Friday night, with a 45-10 win over visiting at Hoekel Stadium.

Senior quarterback Drew Hare threw three touchdown passes and ran for another score, while teammate Ray Harris scored four touchdowns (two rushing and two receiving), as West won its fourth straight game and improved to 5-2 on the season.

Timberland fell to 2-5 on the year, despite a valiant defensive effort against West’s high-powered offense, which came into Friday’s contest averaging just under 40 points a game.
