Portion of Portage Road to be Closed

A section of Portage Road at its intersection with Rees Road will be closed for two months beginning Monday, June 11 at 7:30 a.m.

Motorists may need to find a different way of travel if Portage Road is on their list of streets to take. According to a recent news release, a portion of Portage Road will be closed beginning Monday, June 11 at 7:30 a.m.

The closure is to allow for the construction of two box culverts.  Specifically, Portage will be closed at the construction area located at the intersection of Portage and Rees Road.

Portage will remain open on either side of the closure area, but no through traffic will be allowed in the area of culvert replacement. Likewise, Rees Road will remain open, but no traffic will be able to access Portage from Rees or vice versa.

The road will remain closed for approximately two months.

For alternative routes, motorists may take Grafton Ferry Road to Highway 94 then Rees Road to Weber Lake Road to by-pass the closure on the west side of Rees.  On the east side of Rees, travelers can take Weber Lake Road to Rees then Highway 94 to by-pass the closure.
