Reminder: Personal Fireworks Displays Illegal in O'Fallon

The use of fireworks is permitted in unincorporated St. Charles County.

If you plan to celebrate the Fourth of July with fireworks in O'Fallon, you'll have to head to the displays on July 3-4.

The sale, use and possession of fireworks is illegal in the city limits of O'Fallon.

The issued a reminder last week on Facebook:

"Please remember the firework tents going up are not in O'Fallon. They are either in unincorporated portions of the county or neighboring communities. Fireworks are illegal to use in the city limits throughout the year. Unincorporated St. Charles County residents my discharge fireworks legally July 2-5 from 10 a.m.-11 p.m."

As O'Fallon Patch previously reported, those found in in O'Fallon may be issued a warning, or if someone is willing to swear a complaint, a summons will be issued.

Professional fireworks are until 10:30 p.m. in O'Fallon.

Fireworks can be seen at the 2012 Heritage and Freedom Fest:

  • Tuesday, July 2 at 10:15 p.m.
  • Wednesday, July 4 at 9:30 p.m.
