Veterans Offer Stories, Relics at Heald Home
Chat with veterans while browsing a one-of-a-kind exhibit featuring military and war memorabilia at O'Fallon's historic Heald Home.
Want to take in a little history at a unique, one-day-only special event? Then make your way out to the Veterans’ exhibit in the historic Heald Home at Fort Zumwalt Park on Sunday, June 10.
Chat with veterans as you peruse military and war memorabilia on display throughout the home from 1-4 p.m. Several exhibits will be featured, including an “Our Angels” salute to women in the military. “Our Angels” is on display courtesy of VFW Post 5077 Ladies Auxiliary.
A Pearl Harbor photo book, medals, uniforms, and a Vietnam Veterans Association Chapter 458 display are also among some of the unique exhibits to be featured.

The O’Fallon Veterans Commission is hosting the event. Admission is $2 per person at the door, which includes a house tour.
“This is a unique event that’s only offered for this one day,” said Tom Drabelle, O’Fallon Communications Director.

The Heald Home, located at 1011 Jessup Drive, was completed around 1886. The two-story home’s architecture reflects O’Fallon’s German heritage and craftsmanship.
Even though this exhibit runs for one day, the Heald Home is open for tours during special events in the park or by appointment for groups of 10 or more. To tour the home, contact Marsha Seymour at 636-379-5614 or mseymour@ofallon.mo.us.
