Fort Zumwalt North Athletics - Week in Review - 9/17 - 9/22

FZN Week in Review

Varsity Football

The Panther football team lost a tough one to Zumwalt East last Friday, falling by a score of 38 - 26. The offense was paced by Zach Hilliard, who completed 7 passes for 136 yards and two touchdowns, he also ran for two scores. Deon Lewis has 215 all-purpose yards and caught a touchdown pass, while Sam Barlett caught a 41 yard touchdown pass.

Leading tacklers for FZN were Kory Morton, Chris Milich, and Jeremy Davidson.

The Panthers travel to Wentzville this Friday to take on conference and district foe Holt High School. Kickoff is scheduled at 7:00 pm.

Varsity Softball

The Lady Panther Softball team had a rough start to the week as they fell in three consecutive games to Washington, Fort Zumwalt South, and Timberland. The team rallied over the weekend as Panther bats came to life, the team swept all three opponents to claim the title of champions in the Fort Zumwalt North Invitational. The team defeated Trinity, Union, and defending tournament champion Winfield to improve to 15 - 5 on the season.

The team was led by the pitching of Abby Hlavaty and the hitting of Abby Tillotson, Taylor Dames, and Lexi Theis.

Varsity Volleyball

The Volleyball team started the week with a loss in three games to Winfield, but bounced back to sweep Fort Zumwalt South and St. Charles. Over the weekend the team captured first place in the Ritenour Tourament, marking the third consecutive year the team has claimed the championship!

Cross Country

Senior Logan Jaggie continued his very impressive season by finishing an overall 9th place at the Hazelwood West Invitational.

Marching Band

The Marching Band began their competition season last weekend by finishing as the Grand Champions at the St. Charles West Marching Band Festival. The band also swept all four music and visual captions on the day!
