FZN Spring Sports

Baseball

The Panther Baseball team is off to a strong start this spring. Currently the team has an overall record of 6 - 3. The Panthers have been led by the bats of Matt Vehige (.433 B.A.), Jeff Hueser (.409 B.A.), and Justin Dirden (.400 B.A.). Steve Kemp has been the hot hand on the mound for the Panthers as he currently sports a 3 - 0 pitching record to go along with an E.R.A of .068!

The Panthers will ben in action this week against: Fort Zumwalt East (4/15 @ East 4:15 pm, 4/16 @ North 4:15 pm) and Troy (4/18 @ TR Hughes Stadium 3: 30 pm).

Boys Track

The Panthers have show a great deal of improvement so far this season. Individually, Jonathan Banowetz has ran one of the fastest 100m times in the area with an 11.22, while Chaz Glotta's time of 2:08 ranks him among the elite in the 800 meters.

Girls Track

The Girls Track team has been paced by sprinter, Gwen Pudlowski, and a trio of distance runners: Jocelyn Quiles, Tori Nesslage, and Hannah McNiff. Both Quiles and Nesslage qualified for state in cross country last fall. Hope Knopf has also been a consistent performer for the Panthers.

Both the Boys and Girls Track teams will compete this Friday (4/18) at The "Lion" Relays held on the campus of Fort Zumwalt East.

Girls Soccer

The Panthers soccer team currently sports a 3 - 4 overall record. The team has been led by the outstanding play of Cassidy Menke, who has scored 8 goals so far this season. Other key offensive contributors include: Anna Durin (3 goals) and Laci Todd (2 goals).

The Panthers have two contests scheduled this week. The team travels to Fort Zumwalt East on Wedneday (4/16 @ 6:00 pm), before hosting O'Fallon Christian on Thursday (4/18 @ 4:30 pm).

Boys Tennis

The Tennis team is currently riding a four game win streak after dropping their first two contests of the season. Top individuals include: Alden Kluesner, Brandon Fatheree, Alex Schlemeir, Jack Barnett, Scott Neustadt, and John Graf.

The Tennis team is back in action today as they travel to Fort Zumwalt East @ 3:30 pm, and again on Wednesday (4/16) as they travel to Troy @ 3:30 pm.
